The most expensive cricketer’s wedding in history?

It is the IPL season is here and I am here speaking about cricketer weddings, eh? Well, if the IPL is the reason for a cricketer’s wedding to potentially be the most expensive one in the cricketing fraternity, then it deserves some mention, doesn’t it?

Aaron Finch, who plays for Kings XI Punjab, is set to miss the opening round of the action due to his wedding. The 31-year-old got married to his partner Amy Griffiths on the 7th of April and, as a result, is going to miss today’s opener against Delhi Daredevils.

So let’s roll some numbers, shall we now? Aaron Finch was bought for $960,000 in January by Punjab. The Kings XI are sure to play at least 14 games, which means that Aaron Finch gets $68571-per-match approximately – and that is the amount he is going to miss due to his wedding.

If one adds the wedding expenses to the amount that Finch has lost, they could make a case for Finch’s wedding to be the most expensive cricketer’s wedding ever.

But that’s not even the best part. They say that good friends are hard to find these days, but Glenn Maxwell gives hope to the world. Being the emcee of the wedding, he also opted to miss the opening game against Finch’s Punjab and has, in the process, lost out $77464 that he gets per-game in the IPL.

Both friendship and relationship goals right here.
