Past and present of Bangladesh lay foundations for the future

Winning the toss and electing to bat first, Legends of
Rupganj started decently with Salauddin Pappu and his partner Abdul Mazid getting
them to 34 before the former fell. Avishek Mitra came in next, but played 44
balls to make his 18 runs, after which he was scalped by Mehidy Hasan Miraz.
Captain Naeem Islam went out for a duck and suddenly,
Rupganj found themselves in a tricky position at 93/3. A partnership between
Parvez Rasool and Abdul Mazid, however, steadied the ship. Mazid, in
particular, looked fantastic to score 89 runs from 114 balls.
Unfortunately, however, he couldn’t reach the three figure
mark as he got out for 89. Rasool was then bowled by Taskin Ahmed for 33 and so
was Tushar Imran for 5 by Sunzamul Islam.
Mosharraf Hossain and Nazmul Hossain Milon made 29 runs each
in the end to ensure that the Legends post a decent total of 247 with the loss
of 8 wickets in their 50 overs.
Taskin Ahmed took 3 wickets as Sunzamul Islam and Mehidy
Hasan Miraz took two scalps each with Saqlain Sajib taking the other one.
In response, the openers of Abahani have started exceedingly
well with both Saif Hassan and Anamul Haque reaching their respective fifties. The
Bangladesh U19 captain, Hassan, made 78 from 82 balls while Anamul Haque Bijoy
mounted 77 from 89 balls.
Both of these batsmen departed after making great starts and
the platform that they created was well used by Nazmul Hossain Shanto and Nasir
Hossain, who made 25 and 34 respectively. They, however, weren’t the ones that
ended the game for their team.

That honour was bestowed upon Mossadek Hossain and Mehidy
Hasan Miraz, who made 14 and 21 to give Abahani a comfortable win against the
Legends.
For the Legends, Mosharraf
Hossain took two scalps while Asif Hasan and Ashiquzzaman took a wicket each,
but couldn’t stop the Abahani train from reaching the platform of victory.
