Naim-Taskin return as Bangladesh announce ODI squad for SL series

Left-handed opener Mohammad Naim Sheikh has earned a recall to Bangladesh’s ODI squad for the upcoming three-match series against Sri Lanka, marking his return to the format after almost two years.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) unveiled the 16-member squad today, with Mehidy Hasan Miraz named captain for the tour.

4 hrs agoNaim, who debuted in ODIs against Zimbabwe in Sylhet in March 2020, has played just eight matches so far, scoring 95 runs.
His most recent ODI appearance also came against Sri Lanka, in Colombo, back in September 2023.

Right-arm pacer Taskin Ahmed has also returned to the squad after recovering from injury.
The full squad was announced by chief selector Gazi Ashraf Hossain at a press briefing held at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.
The series will begin with the first two ODIs in Colombo on July 2 and 5, with the third and final match scheduled for July 8 in Pallekele.
