In the third round of the National Cricket League, Sylhet division saw their first win as they beat last season's champion Rangpur by an innings and 26 runs.
Sylhet scored 415 runs in the first innings in the first tier match at the Sheikh Abu Naser Cricket Stadium in Khulna. In reply, Rangpur was bowled out for 159 runs in the first innings. Sylhet put Rangpur to follow-on after getting a lead of 256 runs.
Rangpur could not get out of the batting failure even for the second time. They were all out for 230 runs and left the field losing by an innings.
Experienced batter Shamsur Rahman who played for Sylhet won the man of the match award after scoring 160 runs in the only innings.
Dhaka Division- Dhaka Metro
The tier 1 match between Dhaka Division and Dhaka Metro in Cox's Bazar eventually began on day four, and after winning the toss, Dhaka Division batted first and declared at 133 for 1, with Rony Talukdar hitting a 59-ball 77 with 11 fours and two sixes and Abdul Mazid making 55.
The match finished in a draw after Dhaka Metro lost four wickets and reached 49 for four.
Chattogram beat Rajshahi by 9 wickets in the second tier match at field number two of the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. They have reached the target of 55 runs in just 10 overs.
Parvez Hossain scored 27 off 28 balls with 3 fours and 2 sixes, Saikat Ali scored 28 runs off 32 balls with 4 fours.
Naeem Hasan, who took 7 wickets in two innings, got the man of the match award.
This is Chittagong's second win in three matches. They are number two in the points table.
Earlier on Saturday, Barishal Division won their first game with a seven-wicket win over table toppers Khulna Division in the tier-2 match.
