Tamim Iqbal. who is the talk of the town now, paid a visit to the respected Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Gono Bhaban on Friday to discuss his unexpected retirement from international cricket.
According to a reliable source associated with Cricfrenzy, Tamim was spotted entering Ganabhaban at 2:30 PM. It was also reported that former captain Mashrafe Mortaza also attended the meeting.
Tamim, who was in Chattogram, arrived in Dhaka this morning. The latter is expected to fly to Dubai on 18 July to spend time with his family.

Tamim decided to retire from international cricket, effectively putting an end to his illustrious 16-year career. The shocking development shook the entire cricket fraternity as the decision was taken amid the Afghanistan series and just three months ahead of the World Cup 2023.
Tamim was suffering with his fitness and was doubtful for the first ODI against Afghanistan owing to a back injury that also kept him out of the solitary Test against the same team last month. But the ‘not 100% fit’ captain showed up for the match which turned out to be his last international match.
On Friday midnight Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hasan Papon said that the board still considers Tamim as their ODI captain and the board will wait and hope for a change of heart from the opener.
"He has not resigned from us. He is still our captain, We want him to change his decision and come back" Papon said.
