Abahani Limited emerged victorious against Agrani Bank Cricket Club in a close contest by a margin of nine runs at the Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium (KSOAS), Narayanganj.
In response to the target of 268 runs, opener Azmir Ahamad played a brilliant innings of 60 off 63 balls, which included four boundaries and an equal number of sixes.
Mohammad Elias and Marshal Ayub also contributed with the fifties, scoring 57 off 80 balls and 58 off 71 balls, respectively.
But despite their efforts, Agrani Bank fell short of the target by nine runs, finishing with a score of 258 for the loss of six wickets in their allotted 50 overs.
Abahani were sent to bat first and posted a total of 267 runs on the board in their allotted 50 overs. Opener Naim Sheikh was the top scorer for Abahani, scoring a well-crafted 79 off 75 balls, which included ten boundaries and two sixes.
Mossadekk Hossain provided solid support with his innings of 52 off 69 balls, which included one boundary and two sixes. While Afif Hossain and Mohammad Saifuddin scored 30 and 33 runs respectively.
For Agrani Bank, Anamul Haque was the pick of the bowlers, taking three wickets, while Asadduzaman Payel and Abu Haider Rony took a couple of wickets.
