South Africa pacer Anrich Nortje was released from the squad after experiencing mild groin discomfort during the first Test.
After a medical evaluation by the South Africa medical staff, Nortje, who played in the first Test against the West Indies, has been asked to rest. In the Proteas' 87-run victory over the first game, Nortje picked 5/36 and 1/48.
The World Test Championship includes the two-game series, but despite winning the first game, South Africa is no longer in the running for the Ultimate Test, which will be played at the Oval on June 7.

The fast bowler's replacement has not yet been announced. The South Africa team also has Kagiso Rabada, Gerald Coetzee, Marco Jansen, and Wiaan Mulder as pace options.

South Africa bowling coach Charl Langeveldt was also released from the squad due to family reasons. The first Test against West Indies at Centurion was his last in the role.
