Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) new franchise Sylhet Strikers have launched an innovative event for two days as 30 bowlers were shortlisted for final round amongst 300 plus participants on day one of the Sylhet Strikers Pacer Hunt 2023 held at Sylhet Outer Stadium, Lakkatura, Sylhet on Tuesday.

The morning session of Day 2 of the event, Wednesday, is being expected to try another 250 plus bowlers before finalizing the list for the main round of the event scheduled to take place from 1pm on the same day.

The minimum bowling speed has been set at 75mph by the selection panel.

“I would like to welcome all the participants in the pacer hunt organized by Future Sports Bangladesh Ltd and Sylhet Strikers. I hope the participants will be able to grab this good opportunity showing their skill and talent. I look forward to meet the winners at the Sylhet Strikers’ nets during BPL T20 2023. At the same time, I would like to thank volunteers of Save Sylhet who are uncompromisingly working behind this project.” Speaking on the event, Sylhet Strikers Icon and Captain Mashrafe bin Mortaza said.

Winners of the hunt will be given the opportunity to bowl in the Sylhet Strikers Nets during the 9th BPL T20 set to begin on January 6, 2023 and work closely with the coaching panel and cricketers from both home and abroad.

The winners will also be part of a virtual session with former Bangladesh fast bowlers Hasibul Hossain Shanto and Tapash Baisya.
