Bangladesh players are currently in training camp at Mirpur, preparing for the forthcoming series in the UAE and possibly Pakistan. Head coach Phil Simmons, senior assistant coach Mohammad Salahuddin, trainer Nathan Kelly, and fielding coach James Pamment have all been involved in the sessions. However, Adams was noticeably absent, reinforcing speculation about his departure that had been circulating for weeks.

On Saturday (May 10), players and coaching staff formally bid farewell to Adams with flowers at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, confirming the end of his stint in Bangladesh. He had originally signed a two-year deal with the BCB in March 2023, with the expectation to guide Bangladesh’s pace attack through to the 2026 T20 World Cup.

BCB senior manager of media and communications, Rabid Imam, confirmed the matter. It is understood that the board was not fully satisfied with Adams’ contributions, which led to the early termination of his contract. His absence now leaves a void in the fast bowling department as the team readies for international assignments.
Speculation is already mounting that former Australian pacer Shaun Tait could be appointed as Adams’ replacement. Tait, who last worked as head coach of Chittagong Kings in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), is believed to be in advanced discussions with the BCB but no official announcement has been made.
As it stands, Bangladesh may travel to the UAE without a dedicated pace bowling coach, with clarity on a replacement expected in the coming days.
