Sohan and two others test positive for Covid-19

Three members of the Fortune Barishal squad has been tested positive for Covid-19 just before the opening game of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) on Friday.
Barishal’s prime wicket-keeper batter Nurul Hasan Sohan was the first member to test positive from the franchise the other two members were batter Munim Shahriar and batting coach Nazmul Abedeen Fahim.
Dhaka’s leg-spinner Rishad Hossain has also been ruled out after he tested positive for Covid-19 and he is currently in isolation.
Soumya Sarkar also contracted Covid-19 before the beginning of the BPL. There are reports in sections of local media of six positive cases in the Khulna Tigers.
Bangladesh recorded 10,000 Covid-19 cases on Thursday since August 2021. The positivity rate in the country had reached 26%.
