BPL players’ draft to start at 12 pm tomorrow

The players’ draft of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2022 is set to start at 12 pm on Monday, December 27 at Radisson Blu Water Garden in Dhaka.
The franchises have already roped in one local cricketer as a direct signing. All the other players including the local and foreign need to be picked in the players’ draft. Moreover, a playing eleven will consist of only three overseas players instead of four.
The broadcasting rights of this year's event has been handed to two channels, the chief executive of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Nizamuddin said, “The broadcasting rights of this year's event have been given. The games of 2022 will be broadcast live on two channels,”

There are six categories for the local players and five for the overseas players.
Local players of the A category have been priced at BDT 70 lakh, B category (BDT 35 Lac), C category (BDT 25 Lac), D category (BDT 18 Lac), E category (BDT 12 Lac) and F category (BDT 05 Lac).
While overseas players of the A category will get USD 75 thousand (BDT 64.3 lakh), B category (US$ 50K), C category (US$ 40K), D category (US$ 30K), E category (US$ 20K).
The six-team-based marquee event will begin on January 21. The final of the tournament is scheduled on 18 February.The 34-match-long tournament which will be staged in Dhaka, Chattogram and Sylhet.
The six teams will represent Dhaka, Chattogram, Khulna, Cumilla, Sylhet and Barishal. Dhaka will be owned by Rupa Fabrics Ltd & Marn Steel Ltd (Consortium) while Delta Sports Limited (Akhtar Group) will own the Chattogram-based side.
The tournament will be held in a double round-robin format followed by three playoffs and a final and the winning team will take home Tk one crore while the runners-up will win a prize money of Tk 50 lakh.
