The ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) had a harrowing moment when South African batsman Faf du Plessis, who is playing for the Quetta Gladiators, collided with team-mate Mohammad Hasnain during fielding and was rushed to the hospital for tests.
Du Plessis, who is one of the top fielders in global cricket, made a diving attempt at the boundary line during which his head impacted with the leg of the fielder.

While the Gladiators' physio attended to him, du Plessis laid prone on the ground for a few minutes before getting up and walking back into his team's dugout. Soon after, the Gladiators' management announced that he was being taken to the hospital.
Du Plessis was immediately brought to the hospital where testing will be undertaken. Saim Ayub has been appointed as du Plessis's concussion replacement.
Ayub, a 19-year-old left-handed batter, appeared in five T20 games, all in the early stages of the PSL 2021, before the league was cancelled due to an increase in Covid-19 instances among its competitors.
For the second game in a row, the Gladiators are utilizing a concussion substitution. Allrounder Andre Russell was hit on the head by a Mohammad Musa bouncer during their last encounter against Islamabad United. Naseem Shah, a quick bowler, took his spot. Russell was unavailable for the encounter against Zalmi on Saturday.
