DPDLT20: Sk. Jamal beat Prime Bank, Rahatul dazzles in Brother’s win

Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club beat Prime Bank by seven wickets in the Bangabandhu Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League T20 at BKSP-4 Ground, Savar and in the other match Brothers Union won by 33 runs against Partex Sporting Club at BKSP-3 Ground, Savar.
In reply to the target of 134 runs Prime Bank clinch the match losing three wickets with 3 balls remaining. The openers Rony Talukdar (48) and Tamim iqbal (23) got off to a great start putting 69-run stand before the first wicket.
Swashbuckling Rony played an innings of 48 runs off 34 balls, struck four fours and two sixes. Both the batters were returned by the left-arm pacer Saluddin Sakil. The skipper Anamul Haque scored 35 runs faced 33 balls, hitting three sixes. The winning run came from the bat of Mohammad Mithun who was unbeaten on 21 runs. For Sk. Jamal Salauddin bagged two wickets and Tanbir Hayder got one wicket.

Earlier, Sk. Jamal elected to bat first after winning the toss, they have scored 133 runs losing nine wickets in 20 overs. The openers made a slow start, as Mohammad Ashraful (16) and Shykat Ali (28) made 34 runs for the opening partnership.
Ashraful returned for 16 runs with a catch to Mustafizur Rahman off Nahidul Islam. Then, Nasir Hossain (11), Elias Sunny (6) and Tanbir (14) could not settle down for long. Also, Nurul Hasan Shohan was returned for a naught and Sohrawordi Shuvo made scored important 34 runs off 30 balls for the side.
Prime Bank bowlers Rubel and Mustafiz took two wickets each and Nahidul Islam, Alok Kapali and Shoriful Islam got one wicket each.
In the other match of round 5, Rahatul Ferdous all-round performance helped Brothers Union won against Partex by 33 runs. The all-rounder made a half-century also bagged four wickets for the side.
Brothers scored 147 for 8 wickets, Rahatul scored 54 off 44 balls also a 21-ball 34 from Naeem Islam. Shinepukur could only manage 114 losing all wickets. Rahatul took four, Saqlain Sajib took a couple of wicket while Alauddin Babu and Habibur Rahman got one wicket each.
Rahatul was adjudged the man of the match for his performance.
