Pakistan and Quetta Gladiators receives another blow as all-rounder Anwar Ali has tested positive for coronavirus. Quetta Gladiators manager confirmed the news on Tuesday, adding that Ali had been sent into isolation after testing positive for the infection.

Ali becomes the third person to be ruled out of PSL, after former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi suffered a back injury and pacer Naseem Shah was ruled out of the tournament for violating the coronavirus safety protocols.

Anwar Ali had played only one match of the season before it was suspended, however, he hadn’t picked any wicket. Even with the bat, he scored only a solitary run.

It was also known that Asif Afridi will replace Shahid Afridi at the Multan Sultans for the remainder of the season.

The sixth season of the PSL will return to the UAE next month after being postponed in March owing to a cluster of COVID-19 positive cases within the bubble.
