India announce squad for WTC final and England series

India have announced a 20-man squad for the maiden World Test Championship [ WTC ] final against New Zealand at Lord’s and the five Tests against England.
Virat Kohli will lead the side and Rishabh Pant named as the official wicketkeeper, with both KL Rahul and Wriddhiman Saha pending fitness clearance.
Fast bowler Mohammed Shami and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who have been out of the game for a long time due to their respective injuries are set to return.

All-rounder Hardik Pandya, opener Prithvi Shaw and seamer Bhuvneshwar Kumar are the major names that are missing from the squad.
While, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Prasidh Krishna, Avesh Khan and Arzan Nagwaswalla will be the standby players on the tour.
The inaugural World Test Championship final will take place at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton between June 18 to 22, 2021. It will be followed by a five-Test series against England, which begins at Trent Bridge in Nottingham on August 4.
