Bangladesh ODI captain Tamim Iqbal is optimistic about the young players, especially for the fast-bowlers ahead of the New Zealand series. He also sees the forthcoming tour as an excellent chance to reverse previous results.
Tamim said in a news conference on Friday [March 19], “It will be an exciting series. We don’t have a great record in New Zealand. It is a great opportunity for us to change things around. I am excited about some young cricketers in the team, especially in our fast bowling attack. Hoping to start well tomorrow.”

The New Zealand wicket has always been pace friendly and the windy conditions have played a big role which always benefitted the fast-bowlers. So the skipper is looking forward to good performances from the young bowlers.
“We have a solid fast bowling attack this time. We have a few young players who I am excited to see. They have been doing exceptionally well in the practice games. Hopefully we will have a good start tomorrow. “There’s always an opportunity if you execute your plans well in the middle. If you tick all the boxes, you have that chance,” he said.
Tamim congratulated the Kiwi skipper Tom Latham for his 100th game for New Zealand.
“I think it is a great achievement. I want to congratulate him for his 100th game tomorrow. I think we have played a few games together. I believe he led New Zealand in Ireland. He takes a lot of pride. I wish him all the best, but not too much (laughs).” He added.
