Bangladesh seamer Mustafizur Rahman has entered the Rajasthan Royal at a base price of INR 1 crore. Indian former opener batsman Gautam Gambhir has commented that Rajasthan has made a tricky move by stealing Mustafiz at the base price in the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction, Chennai on Thursday.
Mustafiz was seen playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2016 and Mumbai Indians in 2018. Hyderabad first recruited Mustafiz for Rs 14 million. He displayed a great performance in his debut at IPL with the ball in hand as he picked 17 wickets in 16 matches and helped them to clinch the title.

At the same time, the left-arm fast bowler became the first foreign cricketer to emerge as the emerging cricketer of the tournament. For his superb performance Hyderabad kept the Fizz in the team for the next season too.
“Fizz is the steal of the auction. Rajasthan did a tricky job by stealing him in base price. Still remember when he was in Sunrisers he won them the trophy almost single handedly. Yes there were David Warner, Kane Williamson and others but in the bowling department. He lead them the title for Sunrisers Hyderabad” said Gambhir.
After leaving Hyderabad, Fizz joined Mumbai Indians in 2018 for Rs 22 million. In that season, Mustafiz took 7 wickets in 7 matches for the team. For 2021, Rajasthan hired this cutter master for Rs 1 crore (10 million), Mustafiz has played 25 matches took 25 wickets with 7.51 economy in IPL.
