Bangladesh Cricket Board on Wednesday appointed a security personal for Shakib al Hasan following threat by an extremist for attending a Hindu ceremony in neighbouring India.
Bangladesh Police and Rapid Action Battalion members have reportedly arrested a 25-yr-old Mohsin Talukdar on November 17 as he vowed to kill the Bangladesh all-rounder on Facebook live video.

Talukdar had issued an online life threat to Shakib after the former Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) all-rounder opted to take part in a Kali Puja event in Kolkata on Sunday. Shakib, who recently completed his one-year cricket ban for failing to report corrupt approaches had sparked a huge uproar on social media following his visit to Kolkata where he attended a traditional ceremony that was dedicated to a Hindu goddess.
Talukder, a resident of Shahpur Talukder Para in Sylhet, had kickstarted a Facebook Live at around 12.06 PM on Sunday to slam Shakib after the latter's visit to Kolkata. In his Facebook Live event, Talukder had claimed that Shakib's behaviour has 'hurt Muslims'.
BCB chief executive officer Nizamuddin Chowdhury confirmed that they have appointed a gun man for safety of Shakib.
‘’We have appointed a security man ( Motaleb) for Shakib,’’ said Nizamuddin on Wednesday.
The veteran all-rounder was forced to make a public apology over his recent visit to Kolkata for a Hindu ceremony.
