BCB President Nazmul Hassan Papon lavished praise on Shakib Al Hasan for his capability to spearhead the team and experience in tactical aspects of matches irrespective of the international and domestic cricket.

Papon keeps in touch with Shakib on a regular basis. Even when he was in the United States of America (USA) with his family, he held talks with him. Thereby, when he returns to the country and goes to the BKSP, he receives his well-being news.

At that same time, he recalls Shakib’s ICC-ACU restrictions that will remain before the end of his ban period.   

“I held regular talks with Shakib. When he was in the USA, we would talk on a regular basis. Though there are no games, the coach holds talks with Shakib because he is an experienced player and knows match tactics more than other players. It’s an idea of a coach. I have a regular contract with him,” said Nazmul Hassan.

“When I was in London for treatment, I held talks with him. I talked with him after returning to Dhaka. He will come and go to BKSP. I told him about a matter that there are some restrictions of the ICC Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU). Whatever you do except giving no exposure in the media and that’s my first talk. He also spoke in BKSP to the media to stop talks about me,” Papon told a youtube channel.

“Therefore when he went to BKSP, we held talks. He also held a talk on Wednesday. Again he sat with the coach. In the meantime we held talks several times. Actually he held talks regularly. He was talking about match fitness. I told him not to think much about it. You need not it. It’ll be enough if you get down in the field. Be fit and match fitness will come through practice matches. One Test might be bad but the next matches will be good. That does not be a problem,” he added.

But the BCB president gave what type of message by saying ‘Shakib has changed.’
