Moody’s presence in Rangpur made the transition easier: Shakib

Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib al Hasan made a surprise move as he opted to join Rangpur Riders for the upcoming edition of Bangladesh Premier League.
Shakib had been playing for Dhaka Dynamites for the last three seasons and was expected to do so but suddenly both parties parted ways on mutual agreement.
According to Shakib, presence of Tom Moody in the team management made it easier for him to join Riders as he is well aware of his mode operation, courtesy playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League.
‘’I think, there is Tom Moody and we have worked together in Hyderabad,’’ Shakib told reporters during the signing ceremony at Dhaka on Wednesday.
‘’He [Moody] will do most of the works. My responsibility will be to get the best out of everyone,’’ he said.

‘’I have performed my duties as a captain before. I know most of them, so I think there won't be big problem,’’ he said adding that he is expecting the hype of BPL to grow bigger in the coming days.
The agreement was signed with the ace all-rounder at the auditorium of Bashundhara Group Industrial Headquarters-2 in Bashundhara Residential Area on Wednesday.
After the signing the all rounder said more sponsorship is needed for the tournament as it can prove more beneficial for national cricket and also the tournament and can be vital to attract the foreign players.
“Personally I think more sponsorship is needed. It will be better for our cricket and also the tournament. And now-a-days people remain more curious about BPL than before. So I hope more big players will come” Shakib told.
The contract was made for one year with the all-rounder.
The ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan played for the Riders team in 2015 edition of BPL before being iconic player and captain for Dhaka Dynamites for three seasons.
Shakib has scored nearly 1500 runs in Bangladesh Premier League and is the only bowler to take more than 100 wickets in the history of the tournament.
The future of Mashrafee bin Mortaza as he will have to look for a new franchise in the present scenario unlike some of his other team mates who had already decided to join new franchises leaving behind their old ones.
Mushfiqur Rahim joined Comilla Victorians for the upcoming edition as Tamim Iqbal opted to join Khulna Titans after playing for them during the last two editions.
The BPL is set to kick-off with an inauguration ceremony on December 3. The first match the tournament will begin on December 6.
