Ashraful’s Kalabagan dismantled for under 200

As Kalabagan took the pitch against Prime Bank in the Dhaka
Premier League, many eyes were on Mohammad Ashraful. However, despite getting a
good start, he got out for 14 from 16 balls as none of the rest of the top-order batsmen
could come up with inspirational performances.
The start itself was poor for Kalabagan as their opening
batsmen Tasamul Haque Rubel and Md. Jasiuddin couldn’t do much, with the former
actually scoring 17 from 59 balls. That slowed down the team from the very
beginning and created pressure on them to score quick.
As a result, the rest of the batsmen had to play with a
faster rate and they somewhat crumbled, with the exception of Taibur Rahman
Parvez and Mahmudul Hasan Limon, who made from 45 from 79 and 50 from 68
respectively.

Shahadat Hossain’s cameo of 13 from 8 balls should also be
mentioned here as it helped the team reach 172 for 8 after 50 overs.
For the Prime Bank bowlers, Delwar Hossain was the pick of
the lot with 3 wickets in 10 overs after conceding just 32 runs. He was
well-supported by Shariful Islam’s brace and Al Amin Jr’s and Ariful Haque’s
single wicket each.
Prime Bank now need 173 runs to win.
