Rishad, who made his PSL debut this season, impressed early with 8 wickets in his first four matches. He claimed 3 wickets for 31 runs against Quetta Gladiators, followed by another 3-wicket haul against Karachi Kings. He also picked up 2 wickets against Multan Sultans but went wicketless in his fourth match, after which he was dropped from the playing XI.

Despite his absence, Rana remains confident about the 21-year-old’s impact. "We still have four matches left—two group matches, one qualifier, and the final. Rishad will be our X-factor in those matches. He can deliver at any moment, even in these conditions," said Rana.

While sitting on the bench, Rishad has continued to contribute to the team by helping other players with their preparations. Rana praised his attitude and commitment.

"To me, Rishad is part of the playing XI every match. Being on the bench doesn’t mean he’s not part of the family. He’s selfless and always helping others. I asked him if he was bored, and he said, ‘No, I’m fine.’”

Rana emphasized that this experience will be vital for Rishad's growth as a professional cricketer. “This is a learning phase. He will play many leagues in the future. Sitting in the dugout is not easy, but it’s important for his development—not just as a player, but as a person.”

Qalandars currently sit third in the five-team points table with four wins from eight games. Rana believes Rishad could be key to their campaign.

"Rishad is a valuable member of our family. We have 20 players, and can only field 4 overseas. Given the grassy Lahore pitches that favor pacers, we have to maintain team balance. But Rishad has an important role. As the wickets wear out, spin will come into play. I believe he’ll make a strong comeback and take us to the final," he concluded.
