Record-breaker Shakib al Hasan has touched two milestones in the opening T20 World Cup match against Scotland as the experienced all-rounder became the first cricketer in international cricket to take 600 wickets and score 12,000 runs.

The Southpaw has also become the highest wicket-taker with 108 wickets in the International T20 and passed Sri Lanka legend Lasith Malinga.

Shakib is the 23rd bowler in the world and the second left-arm spinner to take 600 wickets. He has taken 215 wickets in Tests, 277 in ODIs and 110 in T20Is and has already scored 12296 runs in his back.

Recently, the 34-year-old became the first-ever cricketer to achieve the double of 1000 runs and 100 wickets in T20Is.

Shakib has also just risen to the top of the ICC's T20I allrounder rankings, as well as the ICC's ODI all-rounder rankings.

In July, Shakib became Bangladesh's all-time leading ODI wicket-taker, surpassing Mashrafe Mortaza's 269 wickets (and one for Asia XI). He is also Bangladesh's leading wicket-taker in Test cricket. He's also one of just four all-rounders in ODI history to score more than 6000 runs and take more than 250 wickets.

With 388 wickets in 346 games in T20 cricket, he is presently sixth on the all-time wickets list. He is one of just four players in T20 cricket to have 5000 runs, 300 wickets, and 50 catches (the others are Kieron Pollard, Dwayne Bravo, and Andre Russell).

Shakib now needs seven more wickets to become the all-time highest wicket-taker in the history of World Cups.

Most wickets in T20Is:
108 - Shakib Al Hasan
