Bangladesh’s Mehidy Hasan Miraz was not in his familiar form before the outbreak of Covid pandemic as the all-rounder was having a bumbling time in both home and away. However, the all-rounder did not have a bad time in the last two domestic tournaments, Bangabandhu T20 Cup and BCB Presidents Cup.

Still, he is looking to get himself back on the track with the upcoming West Indies series. He also pays attention to the performance of the team along with his own performance.  He’s optimistic, sees great benefits in playing at home ground.

“You see, in the last 3/4 international matches, I could not do that well. I have played many matches on home soil, outside the country. But there will be a different advantage for me in home. Since I have done well with the West Indies before so I have a good feeling that I can do something good here and get a good chance to get my form back. I will try to perform well, the team will also benefit from my performance.” said Miraz.

Due to corona situation, the all-rounder was quite disappointed to be out of the game for a long time. However, the cricketers are delight to return to international cricket. Personally, Miraz is also quite happy and thinks Bangladesh is in a good condition. The all-rounder is quite hopeful to do well in the upcoming series.

"I am very happy that international cricket is returning after a long absence. The biggest thing is that we are passing through a tough situation. The last one year, we were all frustrated and couldn't practice well. But after a year the game is starting it makes us all very happy and I am also very happy personally. The best thing is that we joined the national team and having a good practice session. We had a good practice session for four days.” he added.

“Yes, we’ve been together for a long time and especially we all are overjoyed to play. Shakib Bhai is also back in the team, maybe he was out of the game for a year. Bangladesh team was out of game during the pandemic. It was a very good aspect for the Bangladesh team. I think our team is in a good position and that we are practicing, of course we have the series in front of us we can do very well.”

Bangladesh are scheduled to play their first practice match on Thursday at BKSP.
