Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have roped in young Afghanistan spinner Allah Ghazanfar as a replacement for Mujeeb Ur Rahman in IPL.

Allah Ghazanfar has represented Afghanistan in 2 ODIs. The youngster has played 3 T20s and 6 List A matches and has 5 and 4 wickets respectively against his name.

Ghazanfar, who joined KKR for a base price of INR 20 lakh, had shown his potential at the 2024 U-19 Cricket World Cup, held earlier this year in South Africa.

"KKR CEO called him yesterday (Wednesday). It was a moment to cherish for all of us," Atta Mohammad Ghazanfar, Allah's elder brother, told The Indian Express from Kabul.

Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals have also roped in South African Keshav Maharaj in place of injured Prasidh Krishna who was ruled out of IPL 2024.

Krishna recently underwent surgery on his left proximal quadriceps tendon and is currently recovering. Maharaj, a veteran South African cricketer, has played 27 T20Is, 44 ODIs and 50 Tests and has scalped 237 wickets in international cricket.
