A team source confirmed that if Litton is unable to feature in the match, Jaker Ali will step in as captain.
The team management has decided to wait until 6 PM Bangladesh time to assess Litton’s fitness. According to insiders, he is experiencing slight pain in the rib muscles, and the management is prepared to give him until the very last moment before making a call.
On Monday, Litton looked in good touch during practice, playing his natural strokes and gearing up for the India game. However, during a batting session, he suddenly felt discomfort and had to stop. Despite attempting to continue, the pain forced him to walk away.
Physio Bayezid Islam rushed in to provide immediate treatment and escorted him out of the nets. The right-hander did not return to bat and instead watched the remainder of the session from the sidelines as a precaution.
Following practice, teammate Sheikh Mehedi avoided giving any updates when asked about Litton’s injury, saying, “I don’t know anything. I was focusing on my own training.” Later inquiries suggested that the injury is not too serious, raising hopes that Litton could still be available for the India clash.
