England captain Ben Stokes has been ruled out of the fifth and final Test against India at The Oval, starting Thursday, due to a shoulder injury.

In his absence, Ollie Pope will take over as captain, while Jacob Bethell is set to bat at number six.

England have also made three changes to their bowling attack. Fast bowlers Jofra Archer and Brydon Carse—the latter having featured in all four previous Tests—along with spinner Liam Dawson, have been left out.

Their places will be taken by Gus Atkinson, Josh Tongue, and Jamie Overton, all of whom join Chris Woakes, who keeps his spot in the XI.
