The left-handed top-order batter has been suffering from right-sided lower back pain for the past week. After a thorough medical assessment, National Team Physio Bayjedul Islam Khan revealed that Soumya will need 10 to 12 days of rehabilitation, ruling him out of the tour.

“Following medical evaluation, it has been determined that the injury requires an extended rehabilitation period of approximately 10 to 12 days. This effectively means that he will not be available for next week’s three-match series in Pakistan,” said Bayjedul.
To fill the void, the BCB has named Mehidy Hasan Miraz as Soumya’s replacement. The 27-year-old allrounder has already played 29 T20 Internationals for Bangladesh and is currently in Pakistan, representing Lahore Qalandars in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Mehidy is expected to join the national squad in Lahore immediately after concluding his PSL commitments.
