After the conclusion of the Bangladesh Premier League, all eyes are now set towards the tri-nation series against Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka, with the latter staying a little longer in order to be entertained by the hosts with a Test and T20I series.

The fact that former Bangladesh coach, Chandika Hathurusingha, is now the trainer of Sri Lankan team brings more spice to the contest. After all, the Sri Lankan knows the Tigers inside out and will use that knowledge against his former employers.

However, Taskin Ahmed believes otherwise. While he does agree that Sri Lanka will have an advantage with the information that their coach has now, the pacer believes that if the team plays to their potential, no-one can stop them from coasting to the shores of victory.

“Hathurusingha was our coach for a long time, he knows the ins and outs of the team,” Taskin confessed to Somoy News.

“He know our strengths and weaknesses. As a result, they could get an advantage, but I believe that we can win the series on our homeland if we play according to our ability.”

The right-arm fast bowler then revealed that they, the bowlers, are training extensively with the bat as, sometimes, a close match is decided by the innings played by a tailender. He also added that while they are improving with the willow, they are still behind the rest and will have to do even better.

“The bowlers play a bit of a role [with the bat] in tight games. In that regard, the tail-enders of other teams bat very well. We have also improved [our batting], but we have to get even better.”

Indeed, in the closest of matches, which is separated by a run or two, it is the bowlers’ batting ability that seals the fate of the game. With both Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka arriving at Bangladesh, everyone will have to be at their best to end up triumphant.
