Mosaddek Hossain, the newest local addition to the Dhaka Capitals, expressed his determination on Monday to justify the franchise's trust in him and contribute to the team's success in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).

"I had the belief that I may get an opportunity. It's a nice feeling as the opportunity has arrived. It's a new opportunity to play good cricket again," Mosaddek told reporters in Sylhet after the team's practice session.

Mosaddek expressed his desire of turning things around this year for both him and his franchise, who are sitting at the bottom of the points table.

"A player can have a bad year or season. I'm not worried about it. I'm thinking of playing well. Whenever I get any opportunity, I want to contribute for the team," he said.

"If a team doesn't get momentum in franchise cricket, it becomes difficult for them. I will try so that the team can get the momentum…. I intend on giving my 100 percent for the team and contribute as much possible to help them win."

Earlier in the day, Dhaka announced the signing of the experienced all-rounder as a replacement for Asif Hasan.

Despite leading Durdanto Dhaka in the first half of last season's BPL, Mosaddek went unsold in the players' draft held in October. His underwhelming performance in the previous tournament, where he scored just 91 runs in nine innings with a strike rate of 92.85, likely influenced teams to overlook him.
