Bangladesh have defeated Australia in Mirpur in the opener T20I of the five-match series. However, after defeating Australia, skipper Mahmudullah Riyad said he does not want to get complacent as he looks ahead of the remainder of the series.
Bangladesh successfully defended 131 which is the lowest total defended by the hosts in T20Is. Nasum Ahmed was Bangladesh's standout bowler, racking up a four-wicket haul.

After the game, skipper Mahmudullah stated that he is looking forward to the next matches.
“I'm not over the top, we've won, it's gone. Now it's time to focus on the next game and try and be on top from the first ball, try and manage ourselves, keep our feet on the ground," said the T20 captain after the match.
Though his side won the match, Mahmudullah was disappointed with the batting unit. However, he praised the bowlers.
“We had a team talk that we were 10 runs short, so we have to field well. It was outstanding, the hunger and energy was there. The bowlers executed their plans really well. You need to have an attacking mindset with the ball early on, that's what we did,” he added.
