IPL to resume on May 17, Final slated for June 3

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to host the second phase of IPL in UAE. The BCCI had to postpone IPL 2021 indefinitely in the first week of May after four franchises reported COVID-19 positive cases.
The BCCI agreed to move the proceedings due to bad weather in the subcontinent nation around September-October in their meeting (SGM). As a result, the UAE will host the tournament's last 31 games. However, the Indian cricket board has yet to announce the schedule, due to the national team's numerous international series.

The BCCI also decided to seek more time from the ICC to stage the T20 WC in India. The ICC has slated its meeting on June 1 to decide on the final date.
Availability of overseas players remains highly doubtful for the second leg of the IPL. England Cricket Board director Ashley Giles said that their players would not be allowed to participate in IPL during their resting period from the bio-bubble. Australian players’ participation also remains unclear due to their busy international schedule.
According to sources, the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) is delighted to host the remaining T20 league matches. The Indian cricket board will contact their international counterparts to inquire about the availability of international players.
As for the T20 World Cup, since there are more than four months for that, they remain optimistic that the situation will get better. Additionally, the BCCI will request for some time to take a final call on the same.
