Shakib Al Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman will have to remain in the official quarantine after returning home from India after playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The Department of Health has rejected their application for quarantine.
The ongoing IPL was postponed indefinitely on Tuesday afternoon as several cricketers and support staff were infected with the coronavirus. Then came the issue of Shakib, Mustafiz coming to the country and quarantine.

On Tuesday afternoon, the Director-General of the Department of Health. Abul Bashar Mohammad Khurshid Alam said to the media, "Shakib and Mustafiz's quarantine is mandatory. They [BCB] had applied for quarantine release. We said no, it must be in the institutional quarantine for 14 days”
However, the Bangladesh cricket team returned home on a chartered flight from Sri Lanka at 3:25 pm on Tuesday. After returning from Sri Lanka, they do not have to go to the institutional quarantine. They will be in quarantine at their respective homes.
But the Ministry of Health will not give any concession to India as the situation of Corona is very bad there. Everyone from India must stay in the mandatory hotel institutional quarantine.
