MS Dhoni Receives Special Award from Chennai Super Kings Prior to the Opening Game

Three-time Indian Premier League (IPL) title winner Chennai Super Kings has recently awarded a few players on Thursday, including an honour to their captain MS Dhoni. He received a special award for being the highest scorer for the franchise in IPL 2019.
He scored 416 runs from 15 games which came at an average of 44.20. His scores included three fifties also. Notably, Dhoni-led CSK to the final of IPL 2019 but lost against Mumbai Indians in a nail-biting game.
"Our customary pre-season dinner turned into a memorable lunch this time and our Lions walked away with some Super Duper Awards. #Thala Dhoni for leading the team with the willow and scoring the most runs for the Super Kings in IPL 2019," CSK tweeted.
The Indian Premier League 2020 is going to start from September 19 among eight teams - Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Delhi Capitals, Kings XI Punjab, Kolkata Knight Riders, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals. The 53-day tournament will take place in the United Arab Emirates across three venues – Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi. The final game will be played on November 10.
However, CSK camp has already marred by off-field events where 13 members have been tested positive for COVID-19 earlier including two players – Deepak Chahar and Ruturaj Gaikwad and their key players Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh have pulled out their names from the league for personal reasons.
While Chahar has been recovered from the deadly virus and joined the practice session with his teammates, Gaikwad is still away from others as his second report came positive as well. Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings will take on the defending champions Mumbai Indians in the series opener on September 19 and Chahar is likely to be featured in the first game as well.
