The number one all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan becomes the second player in the history of the World cup to pick up five wickets and a half century in the World Cup. He achieved this record on June 24 against Afghanistan. With the bat Shakib scored 51 runs from 69 balls and in the second innings shakib picked up five Afghan wickets by giving only 29 runs in his quota of 10 overs.

Before Shakib, recently retired Yuvraj Singh held the record. Yuvraj achieved this record against Ireland in 2011 World Cup. He scored 50 runs and picked up 5 wickets for 31 runs.
Shakib has been phenomenal in this World cup with the bat. He is the highest run getter of this WorlD cup with 476 runs. Shakib has scored two hundreds and three half centuries in six matches.
But with the ball Shakib was not up to his standard. With ball in hand he just picked up five wickets before today’s match. With today’s five wickets Shakib now has 10 wickets and 476 runs under his belt. If he keeps up this performance he will certainly be one of the top contenders of the Man of Series of this World Cup.
