The Bangladesh Cricket Board on Tuesday announced a 31-member preliminary squad for the upcoming Asia Cup that also includes injured Sakib al Hasan into it.

Sakib, who contemplated to skip the Asia Cup in order to operate his injured finger, was one of the few highlights of the squad that will start the camp from August 27.

Selectors formed the 31 member squad as per the insistence of head coach Steve Rhodes since he wanted to have a look at all his available options.

Pace bowler Shoriful along with Khaled and batsman Fazle Rabbi are the only new names in the squad. Meanwhile, Zakir Hasan is yet to feature in any ODI and just have T20 experience.

‘’Both the pace bowlers have done well to get our attention,’’ Minhajul told Cricfrenzy

‘’While we are also convinced about the potential of Fazle Rabbi as he is scoring consistently in the domestic arena,’’ he added.
