Shai Hope and Stafanie Taylor were named the Windies male and female cricketers of the year for 2017. Taylor also won the Women’s cricketer of the year for the ODI segment, for a second successive year. Deandra Dottin, on the other hand, was declared as the Women’s T20 cricketer of the year.

Evin Lewis won the T20 cricketer of the year award while Hope took home the top honors for the other two formats.

Last year, Shai Hopes’ heroics had helped West Indies win a Test against England in their own backyard after 17 years. He clubbed hundreds in each innings of the second Test as the Caribbean side sealed the match by 5 wickets.

Hope topped the run-getters list for West Indies in both Tests and ODIs while Taylor finished as the highest run-scorer for the team in Women’s ODIs.

Evin Lewis amassed 234 runs for the Windies team over the last 12 months at a staggering average of 117.

Smashing her second T20I ton in October last year, Dottin became the only female cricketer to have scored two T20I centuries.

20-year-old Keemo Paul, who has represented West Indies in eight international matches, won the emerging player of the year award.
