Christchurch promises a fateful final day

The fourth day began with Joe Root and Dawid Malan taking the pitch and scoring their respective fifties before both of them returned to the pavilion. Root scored 54 while Malan made 53 and missed out on yet another opportunity to convert their 50 into a 100.
After their dismissals, Jonny Bairstow provided some resistance to make 36 as England declared after making 352 runs with the loss of 9 wickets.

Colin De Grandhomme starred with four wickets with Trent Boult and Neil Wagner taking two wickets each and Tim Southee rounding if off with a wicket himself.
The final part of the day was cut short due to bad light as the Kiwis were batting at 42 with the loss of no wicket. Both the openers Tom Latham and Jeet Raval held their ground to score 25 and 17 as New Zealand need 340 runs to win on the final day with 10 wickets in hand.
At this point, any outcome is possible as the final day promises a lot of intense moments!
