Hasaranga ruled out of Zimbabwe tour after Bangladesh series injury

Wanindu Hasaranga
The Chevrons are set to host Sri Lanka for a white-ball tour featuring two ODIs and three T20Is. Ahead of the series, Sri Lanka have announced a 16-member squad for the ODI leg.

Notably, star all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga has been left out due to a hamstring injury he sustained during the T20I series against Bangladesh in July.

The injury had ruled him out of that three-match ODI series, and he has yet to recover in time for the Zimbabwe tour.
Meanwhile, making a comeback to the squad is 25-year-old top-order batter Nuwanidu Fernando, who last featured in an ODI for Sri Lanka back in 2024 against New Zealand.

Sri Lanka will be touring Zimbabwe for two ODIs and three T20Is starting with the first ODI on August 29 in Harare.
