Speaking at the post-match presentation, Litton acknowledged the team’s underwhelming performance across all departments and stressed the need for improvement heading into the remaining two matches of the series.

“All over the game, we didn't bowl well, bat well and field well, I'm not saying anything about... But we have to come back strongly. We have two games still. Not only bowling and batting, but you have to field well.” Litton admitted.

Fielding, in particular, drew the skipper’s criticism, with Bangladesh missing several chances in key moments.

“In the first game, you have to field well. We didn't field well at the moment,” he added. “200 is chaseable on this ground, because the ground is so fast, and the wicket was pretty good to bat on. We don't bat well in the middle as well.”

Bangladesh had started their chase brightly, but a middle-order collapse and lack of partnerships saw them fall short despite a strong platform. Litton emphasized the importance of a complete team effort, rather than relying on individual brilliance.

However, Jaker Ali stood out for Bangladesh with an impressive 36 off 20 balls, showcasing his consistency and calm under pressure — traits that have made him a valuable asset in the T20 setup over the past year. His form offers hope for the visitors as they look to bounce back in the second T20I.

“We have to come back strongly. Jaker Ali, last one year, he played really well. He's the key player at the moment. But one player can't win the game. We have to contribute from everyone,” the skipper said.

Reflecting on the team’s mindset, Litton concluded, “I mean, not in practice. Mentally, we have to think. I feel that cricket, not about practice, to grab, to think about cricket, and apply in the middle.”
