Gavaskar and Sachin make Kohli prediction

Two of India’s greatest batsmen of all time, Sunil Gavaskar and Sachin Tendulkar, has spoken about how Virat Kohli could fare in the upcoming tour of England. Gavaskar believes that the India captain will have a great tour that will redeem his failures from India’s last visit to England in 2014.
When India visited England in 2014, Kohli had a tour to forget as he amassed only 134 runs from 10 innings and at an average of 13.40. As a result, he opted to play for Surrey for a county stint but an injury prevented him from doing so, which Gavaskar believes to be a “blessing in disguise.”
"He is going to make up for all his failures in 2014. The fact that he missed out on the Surrey stint, I believe is a blessing in disguise," Gavaskar said while commentating on Ireland-India match.
"He had a bad time in 2014 but that was his first step up the ladder for greatness. Now he is right up there. With all that experience, there is going to be a bucket full of runs for him.”
The reason for Gavaskar’s belief that Kohli didn’t need the county stint is because, according to him, the Indian captain needed a break and with a month of it under his belt right, he is a rejuvenated player that can score a lot of runs in England.

"He is too good a player. He doesn't actually need a stint with a county team to score runs. What he needed more than anything else was a break. He has got a whole month of it now. That one month off would have rejuvenated him and added to his hunger to score runs here in England."
Meanwhile, legendary Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar lauded Kohli as a great player and, just like Gavaskar, believes that he could get one over England by scoring runs this time around because of the hunger that he possesses.
"Good players want to go out and score runs in whichever part of the world they play. The last series wasn't a pleasant one, so I am sure he would want to go there and settle scores," Tendulkar told Sony Six.
"That hunger has to be there. That desire to go out and perform gives him a reason to work harder. He is someone who believes in himself. He will leave no stone unturned, I am quite sure about that."
India began their UK tour with two wins against Ireland in a two-match T20I series. They will play three T20I and ODI each before beginning a five-match Test series against home side England, where Virat Kohli will be itching to be among the runs.
