The ICC said it had approved Ahmed as a replacement for Carse, who took 1-69 in seven overs as Australia chased down a 352-run target to win by five wickets on Saturday.

Afghanistan were beaten by South Africa in their opening match of the tournament in which the top two teams from both groups qualify for the semi-finals.
New Zealand's win over Bangladesh in Rawalpindi on Monday sent them through to the last four alongside India from Group A, with hosts Pakistan and Bangladesh eliminated.
