The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) election is expected to take place before the upcoming national polls. According to board sources, the election is likely to be held in the first week of October, with October 4 being the possible date.

Just a few days ago, rumors surfaced that instead of holding an election, an ad-hoc committee might be formed to keep current president Aminul Islam Bulbul in office permanently.

In response, on August 24, the Dhaka Cricket Club Organisers Association staged a protest in Mirpur against the idea of bypassing the election.

Adding more heat to the process, former Bangladesh captain Tamim Iqbal has now entered the election race, creating fresh excitement and debate in cricket circles.
Meanwhile, the BCB’s board of directors convened a crucial meeting today (Monday) in Sylhet to discuss the upcoming polls. The meeting began at 2 PM at a five-star hotel, with the election as the main agenda. As of the filing of this report, the meeting was still ongoing.
