With the squad set to depart in the early hours of Friday, BCB has issued a press release to announce Miraz's new role.
The 27-year-old allrounder has played 103 ODIs for Bangladesh and has the experience of captaining the side in recent months in the West Indies in the absence of captain Najmul Hossain Shanto who was injured.
Miraz also led Khulna Tigers in the recently concluded Bangladesh Premier League, where his team played Qualifier 2.
The BCB press release also said that pacers Khaled Ahmed and Hasan Mahmud will go to Dubai on Saturday to train with the Bangladesh side. However, both pacers will return to Bangladesh following the opening match against India on February 20.
