Bangladesh skipper Shakib al Hasan and Head Coach Chandika Hathurusingha have suddenly met in the residence of the Bangladesh Cricket Board president Nazmul Hassan Papon at midnight today.
However, both were tightlipped and didn’t speak to the media about their meeting before leaving the BCB boss’s house.
Tiger coach directly came to the president’s home after finishing his vacation in Australia as he will join the team today.
Earlier on Monday, according to various sources, opener Tamim Iqbal spoke to the BCB president Papon and said that he will play a maximum of five matches in the World Cup but Bangladesh have to play at least nine matches in the World Cup.
However, Shakib, the captain of three formats, was irked to hear such a condition of the team's star batter.
According to another source, Tamim said to BCB he is still suffering from his back pain and his availability in the World Cup will be based on his injury.
BCB is yet to announce the 15-member World Cup squad, which is scheduled to be named tomorrow during the third ODI between New Zealand and Bangladesh.
The Bangladesh team will leave the country for India tomorrow to play in the World Cup. Before that, the World Cup team is to be announced and before the announcement of the team, Tamim's demands made the selection committee and the team management very uncomfortable.
