Bangladesh women's team suffered eight wicket defeat to India in the semi-final of the Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou on Sunday as they will face Pakistan for the bronze title.

Bangladesh were swept out for just 51 runs after electing to bat, followed by a disastrous batting collapse courtesy of Indian medium bowler Pooja Vastrakar's four wicket haul.

Nigar Sultana Joty was the only batter to reach double figures for the Tigresses, while none of the batters were able to make an impression and were eventually bundled out in 17.5 overs.

In response, India reached the target in 8.2 overs, losing two wickets, with Jemimah Rodrigues unbeaten on 20 runs.

The Bangladesh women's team can still win bronze if they win the third-place decider game against the losing team from the other semi-final Pakistan, who lost to Sri Lanka by six wickets
