Tamim returns home today after treatment

Bangladesh ODI captain Tamim Iqbal returned home on Monday after his back treatment in London. However, Tamim won’t join the team's camp now as the doctor advised him to rest for a week.

After this, the left-handed opener can start light fitness training. Tamim did not face the media after returning home. He left the airport and went straight to his home.


Tamim's problem is in the lumbar region of the spine. In medical terms, the part called L-four and L-five.


He also has a disc problem in his spine. One treatment is surgery. However, it may take three to four months to fully recover from surgery.

If he does the operation he will not able to play the World Cup then. So Tamim did not go that way. The left-handed opener had to take an injection in the lumbar disc. After monitoring there, Tamim arrived in Bangladesh on Monday.

Meanwhile, the fitness camp of the Bangladesh national team has started in Mirpur from today ahead of the Asia Cup. The selectors are then expected to announce the initial squad of 21-22 in the first week of August.
