Bangladesh ace fast bowler Taskin Ahmed reckoned that he plays fearless cricket and does not care about his safety when representing his country.

Injuries have been following Taskin from the beginning of his international career. Taskin suffered a side strain during the home series against Ireland last month, which ruled him out of the series.

In the last two years, however, he has changed himself a lot and emerged in a new form but injuries have struck him repeatedly.

“It’s really unpleasant being out of the team due to injury. When I was ruled out of the 2019 World Cup, that moment was very heartbreaking for me. But now I understand that what happens it happens for good,” Taskin told the media.

“I was able to bring changes to my work ethic, and process, it has changed a lot. Which is very important for me as a cricketer. Now by the grace of Allah, I am in a very good process. It is boosting confidence that I am giving my hundred percent to the process. So hopefully something good will happen,” he said.

Taskin stated that it is not possible for a fast bowler to keep himself safe from getting injured but he always tried to keep himself fit and prepared for challenges.

“Another thing is that it is not possible for me to play safely. When you play with the ball in your hand, you don't think about how to play it safe. That too being a fast bowler. Playing for Bangladesh is a huge pride for me. Not only that, cricket itself. So when you go to play, you don't think about big events. I always pray that God keeps me healthy,” he said.

Taskin feels Bangladesh can do well in the 2019 ODI World Cup if they play to their full ability as they are accustomed to subcontinent regions.

“We play in the subcontinent condition. India is a comparatively better wicket for batting. Good in one direction, if you can do well there, it will help us to gain confidence and if we can move forward with no fear of losing, it's good for us. Any bowler or cricketer can have a bad day or two. But I believe, if we can implement the maximum, it is possible to do well even in that condition. Definitely challenging, but we will take that challenge Inshallah,” he added.
