Sylhet Strikers back in winning path after two back to back defeat as they beat Chattogram Challengers by seven wickets in their home ground at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Sylhet on Saturday.
Sylhet opener Najmul Hossain Shanto smashed his second fifty of the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League to help lead to victory.
While chasing Chattogram's 174 for six, Shanto scored 60 runs off 44 balls, hitting two sixes and six fours.
He overtook Fortune Barishal captain Shakib Al Hasan in the run-getters charts with his second fifty of the competition, sitting atop the list with 350 runs to Shakib's 306 runs.
Ryan Burl, the newest recruit for Sylhet, threw down some hard blows in a 16-ball 41-run blitz and veteran Mushfiqur Rahim finished with an unbeaten 26-ball 41.
Chattogram's poor fielding, which included dropping Burl twice and allowing some regulation saves to go through, they lost the game for the second time in a row despite being very competitive throughout the entire game.
Earlier, Batting first, Chattogram compiled a respectable total with the help of fifty-plus scores from Mehedi Maruf (52 off 40), skipper Shuvagata Hom (54* off 29), and Afif Hossain (34).
