Both tests have returned positive results Today [Tuesday]. He will now recover in self-isolation and will be re-tested in due course.
“Shakib returned home this morning. As per the rules, he is scheduled to join his team tomorrow after the coronavirus test. However, today's test came positive. He is now in isolation at home,” Monzur said.
Asked if Shakib will be able to play in the first Test of the series starting on May 15, Monzur explained,
"There is no chance in that sense. Because according to our Covid protocol, he will have to be isolated for 5 days. In that case, Shakib's next test will be on the 14th and there is an issue of match fitness,” he added.
